Privacy Policy
akin.ai.app ("we" or "us") sets out this Privacy Policy ("this Policy") to explain how user information is handled in the app "Wishpiece" ("the App") that we provide.
Article 1 (Basic Principles)
The App lets users record by hand the amounts they have saved toward things they want. The App does not hold real money, does not send money, and does not connect to accounts at banks or other financial institutions.
The App is designed to store what users record only on the user's own device. We do not operate any server, and we do not receive or store users' records. The only information we may receive is the information provided by Apple described in Article 6 and the information we receive when you contact us described in Article 8.
The App has no account registration and no login. Unless a user contacts us, we have no way of knowing who a user is.
Article 2 (Information the App Stores on the Device)
The App stores the following information on the user's device.
- Goals (name, currency, goal amount, amount per piece, the famous painting or photo chosen as the puzzle picture, and whether the goal is archived)
- Records of money added and withdrawn (date, amount, and note; records the user deletes are kept together with the time they were deleted, and the user can restore them)
- App settings (appearance, the goals for which reminders are turned on, and the days and times of those reminders)
- A copy of data for display in the Home Screen widget (goal name, balance, goal amount, amount to the next piece, and a reduced-size picture)
Article 3 (Photos)
When a photo is used as the puzzle picture, the App uses the iOS photo picker and receives only the one photo the user selects. The App does not look at any other photos in the photo library and does not ask for permission to access the photo library.
Article 4 (iCloud and Backups)
The current version of the App does not sync records through iCloud. Records exist only on that device.
However, if iCloud Backup or backup to a computer is turned on in iOS, the App's records may be included in that backup. This works as a feature of Apple Inc. ("Apple") without our involvement, and we cannot access those backups. Their handling is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Article 5 (Information We Do Not Obtain)
We do not collect the following information through any mechanism of our own in the App. For information provided by Apple, see Article 6; for information we receive when you contact us, see Article 8.
- Name, email address, phone number, or other contact details
- What users record (goals, amounts, notes, photos)
- Bank account, credit card, or other information about financial institutions
- Location information
- Device identifiers or advertising identifiers
- Usage records (analytics)
- Crash reports or other error information
Article 6 (Disclosure to Third Parties and External Services)
Except for storage and processing by the email service described in Article 8, we do not provide user information to third parties. The App does not include advertising, analytics, external AI services, connections to financial institutions, or any other external services.
If a user has agreed in the iOS analytics settings to share with app developers, Apple may provide us, as a feature of Apple, with usage statistics and crash information about the App. Apple provides this information in aggregated form or in a form that does not personally identify users.
Article 7 (Retention and Deletion)
Records are kept on the device until the user deletes them.
When a record of money added or withdrawn is deleted, it no longer counts toward the balance and remains under "Deleted Activity" (it can be restored). When a goal is archived ("Archive"), it is removed from the list, but its records remain.
To delete a goal and its records completely, choose "Delete Permanently" for that goal under "Archived Goals." The goal, all of its records of money added and withdrawn (including deleted records), and its photo (including the reduced-size picture for the widget) are deleted from the device.
If the App is deleted from the device, all of the App's records are deleted from the device (except for backups described in Article 4).
Because we keep no copy of records, users do not need to ask us to delete them, and we cannot restore deleted records.
Article 8 (Information We Receive When You Contact Us)
If a user contacts us by email at the address in Article 12, we receive that email address and the content of the inquiry. We use them only to respond to the inquiry and to improve the App, and we do not provide them to third parties (storage and processing by the email service is as described in this Article).
Our legal basis for using this information is our legitimate interest: responding to an inquiry serves to address the user's questions and requests, and improving the App serves to make the App better. Users may object to these uses. If a user objects to use for improving the App, we will not use that inquiry to improve the App.
Our contact address uses Gmail, an email service provided by Google LLC, so inquiry emails are stored and processed on that company's servers. Their handling is governed by that company's privacy policy. That company's servers may be located outside the country or region where you live (for example, in the United States).
We delete inquiry emails approximately one year after we finish responding. If you would like them deleted sooner, please let us know at the same address. After confirming that the request comes from you, we will delete them within a reasonable period.
Article 9 (Your Rights)
Depending on the laws of the country or region where you live (such as the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD)), you may have rights such as to request access to, correction of, and deletion of your personal information, to restrict or object to its use, and to have it transferred to another provider (data portability).
Because we do not hold the App's records and they are on your device, you can view, correct, and delete them in the App at any time. For inquiry emails described in Article 8, please send your request to the address in Article 12.
You may also lodge a complaint with the authority that oversees the protection of personal information in the country or region where you live if you are not satisfied with how we handle your information.
Article 10 (Changes to This Policy)
We may change this Policy in response to changes in law or in the App's features. When we do, we will announce the content of the revised Policy and the date it takes effect, before it takes effect, in the App or on our public website. If the handling of user information changes significantly, we will also announce it in the App Store update notes, and where the law requires consent, we will obtain users' consent.
Article 11 (Language)
This Policy is provided in Japanese, English, Spanish, and Portuguese. If the language versions differ in content, the Japanese version prevails.
